PBS Little Big Band
Led by trumpeteers Phil and Bob Scellato, this popular big band has been performing around Honolulu since 2004. Clients have been extremely pleased that a core group of seven musicians can sound like a standard big band of 17 musicians. If the budget is right, the band can expand to 17 musicians with some of Hawaii’s top musicians, performing classic swing, 50s and 60s, and contemporary favorites.
Hawaii’s most popular singers such as Jimmy Borges, Sonya Mendez, Shari Lynn and Ginai have been featured vocalists with the band, performing for clients such as the March of Dimes Governor’s Ball, the Hawaii Opera Ball, the Symphony Ball and a multitude of weddings and special events.
